Won't boot when HOT, but OK when cold

Desktop PC, 2ghz Celeron. ECS 651-M (V1) motherboard.
Boots OK first thing in the morning, when it is cold, but, if switched off during the day, does not switch on easily. When it fails, there are no beeps and the monitor-on light does not go green. However the CPU fan runs.
I have removed and replaced battery to reset the BIOS.

I can repeat switch ON the OFF several times and it MAY boot OK, but not always.

Where do I start looking?

Regards

Dougham

Could be overheating. If you are competent run the PC with one of the side panels removed so you can see all the fans and make sure they all spin and keep spinning with the PC switched on. If they all spin, power off, remove the PC mains plug and clean out all the dust and debris carefully, especially at the vents where air is blown out/sucked in (back of PSU and any other fan vents). A vacuum cleaner with plastic nozzle attached is good for this job (note, a plastic nozzle attached -- don't use just the bare metal tube of the vacuum cleaner which could short across the motherboard components).

i dont think its the cpu getting hot..your only running a celeron 2 ghz and that only produces 50 watts of thermal power, and the maximum temp on that cpu is 72 c before it cuts off (shuts Down) i have seen these cpus run with a fan going at less than 500 rpm, and still dont overheat. i would agree on the other advice ,is to clean the dust inside the pc on the cpu fan and heatsink as clogged dust on the fan and on the heatsink blades will causet heat buildup. i clean my pc every 4 to 6 weeks . once i helped someone clean out there pc,,they never touched it for 5 years, and the dust on the inside of the pc floor was like a thick layer, and the cpu heatsink was completely clogged. also you can run the pc with the side cover off.

Could be the heatink and fan over heating. Have it swapped. Or a run a fan temperature program to test the speed
