USB not working

Hi

I have a Compaq Armada E500
800mhz, 256mb RAM, 20GB HDD.
running XP Professional

with one USB port that refuses to recognize any USB device plugged into it.

I have tried re-installing the OS, removing and re-installing the USB Hub etc in Device Manager.

Any other suggestions please ?
