my computer will not start up???

when i try to start my computer (dell inspiron 3800) it starts to load, but then the screen goes black and an error pops up (EDO memory was detected in socket 1, nearest the audio jacks.) and under that it says (strike the F1key to shutdown.) I have important pictures in there. its a intel pentium 3, windows 2000 xp proffesional. thats all i know.

Hi, it may be that your memory stick has become loose. Remove the cover and reseat the memory.
