ATI video card not working in Compaq Deskpro EN
I have a Compaq Deskpro EN 133HZ, Pentium III machine running Windows 2000 Professional. It has an onboard VGA input. I recently upgraded the memory to 256. I just purchased a Diamond Stealth ATI Radeon 9250 PCI video card. My machine fits all the minimum system requirements of the card.
When I start my PC, I do not get any display.
When I swap my VGA plus back to the onboard port, I don't get any display either.
When I remove the new video card, and reboot with my VGA cable in the on-board port, I get the display.
I've tried disabling the onboard VGA port in BIOS, but am not 100% sure where that might be; let's just say the bios is pretty simple and doesn't seem to have this kind of detail. I've tried reseating the video card multiple times. I can plug a NIC into the same PCI slot and it works, so it's not an issue with the PCI slot. I've also tested the S-Video output to my TV, to see if it was an issue with the VGA port on the card, but that didn't work either.
This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the OS because I never even get to the system page where I can access to BIOS. So the problem is happening well before Windows gets invoked.
I am completely out of ideas. Any suggestions?
