Can't access data on secondary hard drive.

Hi

I recently purchased a new computer. I dumped most of what was on my old pc onto the secondary hard drive and put the drive in the new machine. Now I can't access my files. The drive does show up and when I look at its properties it shows that it contains 98 gigs of data, but also shows it as being entirely available space on the pie chart graphic and when I select it it looks empty. The old pc ran XP and the new one Vista if that makes a difference. Any thoughts?

If the c: drive on the new pc is a parallel ata type with a wide ribbon cable (ie not a sata type), it has a little jumper on the back which will be in a position which tells the system this is the 'master' drive. Therefore, when you add a secondary drive to that same ribbon cable, the jumper at the back of that drive must be set to the 'slave' position -- so please check and correct if necessary. There will be a little diagram on the back showing where the jumper needs to be for the 'slave' position.
