Blue Screen on Vista

Hi. guys.
This is my computer
ACER Power FH
Hitachi 80 Gb SATA
Phillips DVD Burner
Mobo E946GZ (946GZT-M VER 1.0)
Intel chipset
Max RAM 2 Gb
Installed RAM 1.5 GB

I think the motherboard is built by ECS but I'm not sure.
This computer came with Vista Business installed originally.
When I added RAM the computer would start and it would give me a BSOD.
The ram I got is compatible with the computer I also tried different brand names and still doing same thing (BSOD).
Does any of you have this type of problem? or I should throw the MOBO in the garbage and get another one????.

I really need the PC for work.

Thanks for your help before hand.

hi,what happens when you try to run the pc with the original ram chip, dose it work ok then, are you adding ram via a second slot or are you replacing the ram chip for a larger one in the original slot/s. i got a cheep chip from hongkong once, big mistake.if you can get the pc running with the original ram idd do some serious virus and spyware scans (disable restore first untill you get the pc healthy again then reapply restore) it could be that there is a problem with the slot you are trying the new ram in(if you are trying to use second slot)ive presumed youve used a pc manufactures ram checker website like this.. http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/list...fqtemaodsxfl6w will do a check for you. dont bin the mobo yet bro.

ps,ive just looked at acers ram check and youre pc looks very ram freindly, seems you can mix n match up to above 2gb,some pcs just arnt. i have a feeling youre problem isnt ram related if youre sure you have the exact ram specified,is youre hard drive making any clicking/buzzing noises, how much free space did you have of youre 80gb,to ad to what ive said above,if you can get the pc going re scans, dont forget to defrag allso.hope this is of some use...any more clues guys, come on.

Blue Screen on vista.

Thanks for the fast answer.
I'm using the computer right now.
The solution still no where to be found.
The memory is same memory than the original but instead 512 is 1 Gb.
The only thing I noticed is that the memory is PC2 5300 instead of 6400 (as recomended by crucial) but the original ram on the machine is 5300
The machine works no problem with XP but not with vista.
I would like to know if this have something to do with BIOS update.
The HD is a SATA Hitachi 90 GB. I try pretty much every idea I had.
The only thing I didn't change is the RAM.
I work in IT and I'm really puzzled. I can't believe that this computer doesn't like the RAM.
Oh !!! for a note.
I tried Kingston RAM on the begining and the computer did not like it a bit.
BTW the computer is just formated and doesn't have any Viruses.
This machine is getting frustrating. I'm about to get an ASUS mobo and move the ram and Processor to the other mobo.

Thanks.

Did you say you work in IT?? Then why do you apparently not know what kind of RAM you've got? If the machine is just formatted, what media are you trying to install Vista from? What did you format the disk with? What do you mean by "I would like to know if this have something to do with BIOS update" ? Did you flash the bios? Pretty stupid thing to do, if you did. For someone who is supposed to be an IT guy, your post is as clear as mud. You said you changed the RAM and then you said the only thing you didn't change is the RAM. I don't think you should be allowed near computers.
