Sound help - Distortion and playback?

Ok so ever since ive had my motherboard changed
i cannot talk into my microphone and not get a complaint about distortion or playback from the music im listening from other people.
I went to sound testing in Control Panel > Sound and Devices
And i checked it out for myself.
If i have music on low volume and try to talk to someone on mic
it will interfere and it is really loud and distorted if bass or some other sounds are involved.
I believe my sound drivers could be causing the problem
Realtek ac'97 I THINK.
If someone could please tell me how to check because i forgot i could provide u with the name of sound driver.
SO basically i want to get rid of Playback from music and Sound distortion (which occurs when volume is low, medium or high)

Perhaps the mic volume level is too high. Double click the volume icon and you should see the mic volume slider. There may also be a tick box to boost the level. If on, untick.
Adjust and test. Let's see what happens.

it was at the very lower end of the thing and only the recording volume could be changed . And ive been told on games such as Counter strike source
that my voice is distorted but i think i had the boost thing on so ill turn that off
Note: when im listening to music its normal for me
but if its sent then its distorted
