Unable to access my DVD drive

The title is a little misleading but when i double click it, i get an error box telling me that "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." If i right click and go to the explore, or run autorun etc i can go through it like that.

Running most current version of vista
drivers are up to date on the drive as well
