No Audio Device

I have a problem.
Under "Sounds and Audio Device Properties" it says " No Audio Device" and in under the volume tab,everything is grayed out and and in the sounds tab its grayed out and in the audio and voice tabs everything is grayed out.
i have no idea what to do.

OK, this means the PC isn't recognising any sound device.

So download Belarc from the following:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Reply with everything, excluding ALL The hot fixes and any Serial Numbers.

Main important things are the make and model of your PC, if you can provide the make of your mainboard and or sound card, that will help also.

i have the same problem too. I reformated my laptop and no it doesn't recognise my sound device either.

My laptop spec is lengthy so I apologise, and i have shortened it down by 1/5! but I hope someone can help me from all this info! I have already tried installing realtek ac97. (I've reformatted the laptop before and installed this with something else and it fixed my problem but I can't remember what the "something else" was)

OOOOHHHH!!!!!! Carried on trying to fix the problem and stumbled on an advert on softwaretipsandtricks.com for www.PCauthorities.com and downloaded their free program, it loacted which device download i needed and where to find it! Problem solved! Hope it helps others!
