Diskdriver not showing:(

Exclamation Dickdriver not showing:(

When i go to my computer, theres only the floppy disk drive... There is no cd/dvd drive... why?

the first thing that i would suggest is that you open up the computer and have a look to see if the wires have come loose (that plug into the cd drive)

if the wires are fine then check that the jumpers on the drives are set to 'master' not 'slave'

if that doesn't work you could get onto your BIOS setting and make sure that they are enabled on there

if none of this helps let me know and ill try do some research into it

wires: Check

Set to master

Nothing wrong in the BIOS settings....

so... what now? i guess im screwed

Hey there! How old is your computer?? Sometimes they put really cheap CD drives, so maybe that could be a cause.. When did you start having the problem of not being able to see the drive?

Its 2-3 years old. But its working now. It suddenly reaper in my computer!

I think my cousin may have fixed it while i was at school XD

Check the power and ribbon cables again by disconnecting them and reattaching them, or replace the ribbon cable entirely. Try your drive in another machine to see if it still has problems, 2 to 3 years might also mean it's failing and might give up altogether soon.
