Internal HD problem

A few months ago I purchased a new 500gig hd and drive copied/cloned my 80 gig hd to the 500 that worked fine and it put the original 3 partitions I had on the new one as well, dividing the 500 into 3 partitions. I have since rebult a new computer due to old motherboard problems and as I had to reinstall windows I decided to use my 120gig hard drive as my c drive and use the 500 gig as my slave. I reformatted (through windows) the 500 gig but after it reformatted it is only showing as a 128 gig hard drive not a 500. So I thought i would reformat from the command prompt, same thing happened, only showing up as a 128 gig and there are no other partitions showing at all. Any way of unformatting?

Have you tried Administrative tools/computer management/disk management? It could be a drive letter problem.

It didnt seem to be a drive letter issue as I checked that last night, but this morning when I turned everything on (after all the critical windows updates I did late last night) the drive is now showing as 478gig allocated wooohooo, have reformatted and it is now showing as it should phewwww, what a bizarre thing

Thanks for your reply it was much appreciated.
