CPU performance problem

i had a 80 gb hdd nd 2 ram`s 512+512mb . i have a pentium 4 2.66 ghz + 1mb l2 cache. i was experiencing a problem with windows vista on this config. i recently upgraded to a 1024+512 ram nd 80+250 gigs hdd. i
wanted to know haw many partitions of what sizes . nd also dat i installed win xp on ma pc nd was experiencing problems with multitasking ......any solutions????

I think maybe you try to see your display whether it is good enough?As Vista consume lots of memory and sometimes there are just too many other software that you don need but still running when u log on to your window. try shut all that down or uninstall them too...I still prefer XP....now even got SP3. (But internet explorer still not so stable, prefer fire fox)
