Smile Corrupt Drive

Hi

I have a corrupt C:\ drive. It crashed the other day and I have had to replace it with a new one. However, I now wish to retrieve some work from the corrupt drive. I have connected the drive to my current PC with a USB to IDE connector but no luck. I have also put the drive into several other computers with no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas as to have I can retrieve my work.

Thank you.

Does your drive spin?
Can you hear a clicking sound coming out of it?
When you connect it to PC via USB connector, does the computer detect anything?

If it does detect, does it give you a drive letter or not?
If it does give a drive letter, what is the error you are getting?
If is does not give you a drive letter, can you still see the drive being present in Disk Management?
Answer to these questions could narrow down the recovery process.

Cheers

Assuming it's only corrupted and it can still spin up, don't forget to change the jumper on it to enable it as a slave drive (and attach it to the connector halfway along the ribbon cable) or it'll never be seen by the OS.

And, you might just have to change the jumpers on the master drive to that of master with slave too.
