BIOS not ACPI Compitable

Hello all,

I was downloading a video from internet when there was power failure and my pc shut down. After restarting it, pc kept rebooting. So i thought to repair windows and inserted WIN XP disk in drive and booted with CD. After some files were loaded by XP Setup i got error message that my BIOS is not ACPI Compitable and that I should upgrade my BIOS.

My Pc was working fine before this error and I have not installed any new hardware in my pc that may cause this error.

I have tried to reset BIOS by removing the cell from motherbord and then re- inserting it. But it doesn't seems to be working.

Also after I hibernate my pc when i turn it on the windows does not reload itself and i have to delete hibernet files and start all over.

Any suggestions will be most welcomed.

My PC configuration is
Intel 845G Motherbord
Segate ATA HDD 160GB
512 RAM

Thanks in advance..

Pranav

I think you need to restore your original/update your bios.

Just had a search and can't find much, try google or your computer manufacturer for bios downloads.

Wink

Thanks ant fro replaying.
But i have upgrated to latest version of bios available on intel website for my board. The thing is intel has stopped support for my board and they no longer provide upgraded drivers for it.

So there is no way i am going to upgrade my bios from the current version.

Thanks again
Waiting for your replay

Yes, I noticed support has been discontinued, but I think that your bios is at fault and restoring the original (rather than an upgrade and if you can find it), is the best option.

I'll keep rummaging round, if I find anything I'll let you know.
