Video Controller not working.
Hello all, this is my first post on this forum site. Recently somehow... The device manager showed that my Video Controller was not installed properly, but for a fact I know it was. I have been looking for the correct installation file to reinstall the driver, but I've had no luck. These are my specs.

Make.Toshiba
Type.Satellite
Model.M50X
Part #. PSM50C-MX500E

By the way, I have no anti virus running, (yea I know), As for anything else needed I really don't know, I do not mess around with my system configuration.
I came across this problem, trying to open a typical game called Maplestory. Error message said "failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D"

I can't find a M50X the nearest is on the Canadian site and is a M50 PSM50C-MX500E go here

select the model, click go and all drivers are listed.

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a
Restore point and follow instructions

p.s get AVG7 a free antivirus program here http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

Thanks for the reply, I have tried that site, and located my model etc. But there is no "Video Controller" Download, the closest is "Toshiba Driver Controls." I have tried downloading this one, but it says it's already installed. I don't want to uninstall this. because I am not entirety sure to reinstall it.

By the way, thanks for the program.

If there are any other possible solutions feel free to hit me up

you need the Intel Alviso-GM Display driver - that is the video driver

Hi everyone (especially Bookwork coz he/she seems to be the most helpful), this is also my first post and my problem is the same as TooTrini's. I know for a fact that my Video Controller was working but now it is not.

you don't list your OS but VGA should be Intel

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in cse
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore - select create a restore point and follow instructions

hi,
sorry to bother you again bookworm but i downloaded it fine and then i went to setup.exe
apparently my computer does not have the minimum requirements to install the driver, so... plz help. im wondering if i possibly downloaded the wrong one or just did something wrong once i'd downloaded it.
i downloaded VGA_Intel 6.14.10.4837, is this the right one?
sorry bout this, u'll prolly have to be a little more specific with me coz im technologically empaired.

can you get Everest and post the Computer / Summary section, there are 2 video drivers available need to know which you have

bookworm sent you to the correct link, you did not download the right driver for Windows XP.

You need-->VGA_ATi_v8.371_XP.zip

ive downloaded this however whenever i try to install it, it comes up with a warning saying, "Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software.
plz help...

Did you install 'Chipset_Intel965_v8.2.0.1012_Vista_XP' first ?

hmmmmmmmmmm, i've just installed the Chipset_inter965_v8.2.0.1012_Vista_XP however, nothing changed
it still came up with: "Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software."

Ati needs the Microsoft Net framework installing before the Ati driver, go here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

install. then install the Ati video driver
