When you say it's not working, do you check in Device Manager to check if the sound controller / driver is installed and working correctly?
Do you get any start up / shut down sounds? Have you checked ALL audio jacks are plugged in to the Correct connections on your PC.
Do you have any other speakers to test? Any headphones? Reply with as much information as possible.
