issue with my cd/dvd rom drive....

Hello everyone,

im having a certain problem with my cd and dvd rom drive and im wondering if anyone can assist me in helping me with this issue....a while ago i had a little mishap where the cd/dvd rom drive in my computer went MIA...so...i had to go to circuit city to buy a new one for 100$....the people there even installed it for me...but when i got home to try to put any kind of cd or dvd into it...nothing would happen...sometimes it will kind of make a high pitched sound like it's trying to read the cd but nothing happens..i looked up my diagnostics for the hardware...it says that there is nothing wrong with my drivers and that it detects that it is indeed there...but i cant install or boot up anything...especially games that require u to put the disc in to play....my major concern reguarding this topic is...yes im a gamer and the new expansion for world of warcraft comes out in 2 days in dvd format....and since it comes with cd's u have to install im in quite a pickle here..how am i supposed to install it when it cant read any cd's...the computer detects it's there but it's not doing anything...if anyone could possibly give me some feedback on what to do..or a solution to my problem...please get back to me asap. thanks.

Well if you can see it I would take it back with one of your disks and get it replaced and try it before you leave.
