Unhappy Blank Screen After New Graphics Card

Hello, recently I decided to replace my 3 year old graphics card with a newer card that would support my gaming, which also needed a new power supply to support it. I have a Dell Dimension E521 computer with a Nvidia motherboard, and I bought a new Antec Power Supply, 650 watts. I put this one in and closed up my computer to see if it worked, it did, my computer ran fine. I took this time to uninstall the drivers from my older graphics card, and then turned off the computer.

I pulled out the old graphics card and put in my brand new Nvidia GeForce EN9600GT card. It was tight but it fit, and I plugged in the little cord that would give it power from the supply to itself. I didn't close the computer, and left it open so I could see if the fan would work when I turned on the computer. It did, however my monitor remained blank. I reread the manual and it said nothing about any additional connections I would need, I googled the graphics card, I don't think I missed anything. What is wrong with my monitor? I don't know how to make it work.

Have you tried leaving the new graphics card out and trying the onboard/integrated graphics?perhaps your BIOS needs set to run the new graphics card.

I'd go with PeckerWood, first remove the new card and connect to the onboard and see if you can get to the bios, check if you have a Display Adapter option there. Try booting with the onboard, then switch to the PCI-Ex and reboot.

Once you get an image on the display, if you get anymore trooble go to safe mode.

Ow btw, some displays have an "Input Source option", thats when you have both AGP and DVI connections, and some of those dont switch umong them automaticly. So if you had an AGP before and now you connected DVI it could still be in AGP mode.

Good Luck
