hp 1020 printer stopped working
I have an hp system running Vista 32 on 2G of Ram. I have an hp laserjet 1020 that I use only for my computer, and in the middle of the day a few weeks ago I lost connectivity with all of my printers (network and local).
I slowly gained communication with all of them except my hp 1020. I print to it, and the print manager says printing, but nothing happens. I have tried downloading every driver other I can find, but I don't know if its doing any good, because I don't know how to completely uninstall the printer and old driver before proceeding.
It was originally installed with the driver that came with it, but I can't find the disk now. I found the XP driver, because I heard that might help, and actually it did, because before I downloaded and installed that, when I printed, the print manager would say "Error-Printing", but now it just says "Printing" for eternity.
I don't know what happened to just lose all of my printers at once, like maybe I received an update, but now I cannot get this printer to work!
The printer doesn't have a self-test button on it, and I can't test it on another computer, because i apparently don't have the right driver for Vista, or something.
