Multimedia audio controller problem....No idea what i'm doing wrong

A guy I used to date built a computer for me. It works really well, except for one major thing. There's no sound. There's a "no sound device" message and sometimes a "no audio device" message. When I go to the device manager, there's a big yellow question mark next to "Other devices" and "multimedia audio controller".
I used the Belarc Advisor to try to figure out what is wrong, but quite honestly, it is all Greek to me. Please help me fix this issue!

Here's what the Belarc Advisor had to say:

Kind of helped....

Okay, so I installed the driver you mentioned. I no longer get the no sound/audio device error message. I can actually see a little volume control in my task bar. I didn't have that before. Unfortunately, I still can't hear any sounds I even tried plugging in some headphones.... Nothing at all. What's the next step, please?
