Okay, I am a bit worried because my system doesn't seem to want to play any sound
I've just re-formatted my hard drive and installed Win XP Pro. I managed to get everything else working apart from sound.
I would be really grateful for any advice. I have posted my Belarc report below.
In Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers it says the following (none have any yellow question marks)..

I did, however, notice some yellow question marks against the following...but don't know what they mean
