Graphics Problem ?

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo P computer (about 5 years old). Pentium 4and running Windows XP. Recently, I have started to get an occasional problem. When using the PC, suddenly the screen will go totally black. If I am printing or burning a disc when this happens, everything stops. I tried reducing the hardware acceleration (under 'Display') but I'm not sure that it improved things.
Today, I noticed another fault; now and again, I get funny patterns on the screen and everything locks up. I think it is the on-board graphics that is causing a problem, but I am not sure. I tried substituting another hard drive (that was previously working perfectly) and the same thing happens. I am therefore pretty sure that it is a hardware problem.
Any ideas please ?

The dsame thing happend to my laptop, It seems when you do somthing that uses a lot of prosessors the computer is overjeating and shutting down. you may need to get a replacement fan or at least get it fixed.

This will measure temps ans also clean your laptop http://mobileoffice.about.com/od/usi...leanlaptop.htm
See how this goes there is a few more things we can try but one step at a time.
