CD Writing problem

HI,
I am using XP and recently i am facing problem in writing CD by using Nero Startsmart, however if I play CD it runs fine,
When i start writing a CD following steps displays
1. super link activated
2.catching of file started
3.power calibration error
4.Invalid write state
5. could not perform end track.

It is a software problem or Hardware problem i am fail to understand.

Please advise.

Hi, try another media, move files directly to the cd without using Nero. http://www.ofzenandcomputing.com/zanswers/151
Just to see if it works.
If not get a cd cleaning disk or better buy a new one as they are cheap.
