Computer Keeps Crashing...

Hi people, I don't kow where this is meant to go, if mods would like to move it pleas feel free to or if someone wants to suggest a place again please do.

I Have got a computer that keeps crashing either when im in windows or sometimes on boot, the computer has 2gb ram and a 300gb hard drive and its running on a Pentium D processor, when I 1st got the computer it had Windows XP Pro on it, I decided to take this off and put Windows 7 64 bit. is this the problem as the XP was installed as 32 bit from what I know.

I think its either that or its a hardware problem but I have no idea where to start can anybody help Please.

Pentium D is 64 bit, so i seriously doubt that would be the issue. Run memtest x86, check hard drive, etc. A lot of these wierd errors can happen when switching OS.

Have you thought of putting XP back on your machine? that will then rule out any software failures (windows 7) if it doesn't crash then there's your answer, if it continues to crash you could do as Ghermination suggested.
