CD/DVD-ROM dissapeared completely!! help

My computer no longer shows CD/DVD drives and neither the device manager shows anything about the drive being corrupt. All this started after I installed a new graphics card (GeForce9500 GT).The most confusing thing is whenever i unplug the graphics card, the CD/DVD drives appears again and everything goes back to normal again.

I have tried everything from registry editing (deleting upper and lower filters), reinstalling windows (XP SP2 in my case), to BIOS resetting..but nothing seems to work. The graphics card seems to work perfectly fine as it's a brand new and the CDW/DVD drive works fine without the card plugged in but when put together...the later dissapears completely from My comp. and device manager as well. Could this be a compatibility issue?

Any help would be appreciated at this instant because I am going crazy..cant play anymore games because of this weird issue.
