SoundMAX problem

HELP please,

I have been trying to solve my problem for at least a month now and without success.
My soundcard stopped functioning about a month ago and I am not able to make it work again. I have an ASUS P5E Motherboard. It came with a sound card from SoundMAX. Suddenly it stopped functioning and it tells me to reinstall the driver. I must have tried to install the driver, found on the ASUS site as well the one from SoundMAX, at least 20 times. Every time it tells me that the driver was not loaded and that I need to reinstall said driver. I cannot find any solution. I know that there are many other users out there that have the same problem. Did anyone find or can anyone suggest a possible solutionÉ

My system runs Vista Business 32bit OS, it has 2 WD-SATA 500gigs HDD, 3 Gigs RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT, and an Intel Core2 Duo CPU E6550 at 2.33 GHz.

Any help solving the problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Brutium
