80% usage of physical memory... what cause?

hello

have laptop running vista home and it has 1000mb of physical memory.... recently it runs slow and I have noticed that the physical memory... even when rebooted is at 775 -825mb usage

is one related to the other?
what would be using all the memory?

the computer has kaspersky AV 2010

cheers for any thoughts

Hi, Vista is a memory hog to say the least, I would insatll another gig of memory and it will be a big improvment to your machine.
