motherboard and processor upgrade

I recently burned my AMD 1.2 gig processor and just to get back up, I replaced it with a 800 megahertz AMD Duron. I would now like to upgrade my motherboard and processor to a 2+ gigs because it's way to slow. Any suggestions on a compatable motherboard and processor and the best prices for the change out?
Present specs:
Board: SNC302EEH
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG 10/31/2000

512 Megabytes Installed Memory

Slot 'BANK_0' has 256 MB
Slot 'BANK_1' has 256 MB
Slot 'BANK_2' is Empty

Thanks, Bob

You may find some good stuff here. Just click on motherboard combos, and this will give you a listing of combos based on processor speed. Then you just scroll through till you find one with a motherboard that has what you want.

More imfo

Here's the imfo I left out. Thanks so far, but this imfo may help narrow my search. If anyone has a specific board they may reccomend.
ATI All in Wonder Pro 32MB Graphics Card
8X Write/4X Rewrite/32X Read CDRW Drive
12X Max DVD-ROM Drive with Software Decoding
10/100 PCI Ethernet Adapter
Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live 5.1 PCI Sound Card

Wan't to add, I just want some speed back. Not a gamer and plan on new system w/DVD in 12 to 18 mos. So I want to be
economical but at the same time don't want to skimp and not have a good backup for myself or family after
buying a replacement.

you just gotta love it!!! and yes, I second the opinion on your proposed setup. $83 for a namebrand board with the nForce 2 chipset. Nice. I didn't check on the specs, so make damn good and sure that it has plenty of PCI slots. Some try to sneak a board by you that only has 2 or 3. Also, if you don't plan to buy a case, make sure that your case will accept it. But, this can be a pain in the rump, short of waiting for delivery and giving it a test fit. There are way too many form factors, and some boards seem to stray from the standards just enough to give a good headache when trying to line up all the screw points. If you have a case from Dell, Compaq, HP, or any other big hitter, ditch it and find a nice one that doesn't have their proprietary bullcrap form factor.

Wait, sorry. I didn't see your memory choice. Look into Kingston hyperX. Timings are 2's across the board, and run about the same in price. Plus, they have that cool blue heatspreader, that has a big hyper X on the side of it. gotta dig the blue spreader.

I checked Newegg (where I found the rest) and didn't see the Kingston hyperX, the only 512 Kingston I saw was $25.00 more. Would you have a link ? The board has 6 PCI slots.

I'm back. Just got everything working, added 350 watt power supply and went with Kingston . The M/B was a real pain, didn't like my sound card or ps2 mouse. Had to work around and added second 80 gig H/D, slaving original. It's flying now, Just looking for easiest way to reformat old H/D after I finish moving everything over and use it for complete backup.

Good to hear. Congrats.

The easiest way in my opinion is to use the storage management in XP. If you aren't running XP, it may be better to use fdisk in DOS. These aren't the best ways to do it, mind you, just the easiest and cheapest.
