Veo Webcam not recognized by XP

I have a Veo Stingray webcam that I had previously installed on my Toshiba laptop running XP. It worked fine there, but now when I have installed it on another system, also running XP, it says the camera is not connected.

I have the original CD and have installed, removed, and re-installed the software but it still says the cam is not connected to this system.

I have also tried connecting it to both USB ports, even thought it shouldn't make any difference. Nothing doing, either way .

Any ideas?

Thanks,

JS

try installing your mouse on the USB port see if that works. Your problem could be the ports not the Camera. Is USB support enabled in BIOS? Does the Camera work with the Laptop ?

Please let us know

cheers

Does the camera use USB power or does it have its' own power supply?

You might find that the USB Bus does not have enough spare power for the camera (I had the same problem with the kids' USB microscope).

I bought a cheap 'Powered USB Hub' and everything works perfectly.
