Making CD's [help]

I use SonicStage from Windows XP to make all my audio CD's. However, lately, the songs have not been transferring. In the middle of it, they just stop making any progress at all, and SonicStage just freezes. I optimize the format before I transfer and set the writing speed at 24x. Can someone tell me how to fix this or atleast prevent it?

I have a bunch of MPEG videos on my computer that I want to delete, but I don't want to lose them forever. Is there any way to put them on a CD so that I can watch them again with the computer or even a DVD player? Any help on this would be great.

Ensure that your 'Screensaver / Power Saving' settings are not kicking in during the disk cutting.

Set your write speed lower and see if that helps.

Ideally Optical Disk writing / burning should be done when no other applications are working.

Save the MPEG files to CD as data files.
