Boot up problem!!!

Hey,

I have some major computer problems. I was trying to fix my USB front port because it was pushed in. When I got it fixed, my pc wouldnt start properly. I then checked if what i moved was in place and pluged back properly. Then i started it up once again. Same problem. When i open the pc, i go trough the normal bios stuff and all my hardrives and drives where there. After all that, Before the Windows XP loading screen should start, it just has a blinking "_". To me that seems to be that the main hardrive is formated or something is damaged. The thing is that i hardly did anything. What do you think the problem is?

Thanks For your help in advance.

Disconnect the USB cable and leave it diconnected then try again.

If you post your System Hardware Specification people will be able to get a better picture of your problem.

Press F8 when the system starts to Boot.

This will give you a boot menu, select the Safe Mode option and see if it will boot into Safe Mode.

Go into BIOS and disable USB, then try again.
