radeon 9200 & boot up problems

hi, well i have recently been restoring my old desktop so that my ypunger brother may have his own pc. part of the resroring included the installation of a Radeon 9200. The computer is a HP 850 mhz AMD Athlon processor with a Asus K7M 1.04 board and the os is widows xp pro. now whenever i restart or boot up the computer it freezes several times and requires me to boot it up again after several times the computer boots sucessfully i'm wondering what could resolve this but u have no idea. thanks in advance for any help.

What point in the Boot process does the system freeze?

Are you getting any 'Error Beeps'?

In your situation I would ...

Remove all RAM sticks.

Disconnect all drives (Hard, Optical & Floppy)

Remove all Cards from AGP, PCI and ISA slots.

Re-install the RAM sticks.

Re-install the Graphics card.

Reconnect the Boot Drive.

Then

Boot the PC, if it Boots OK into Windows shutdown and then add another card. Rebooting after each addition / reconnection.

If it doesn't Boot try another Graphics Card or Memory - check these one at a time, you will soon find the culprit by process of elimination.

All i can say is that i've heard some pretty bad things about Ati graphics cards.
