Angry What Is Wrong With My Computer ?! Help

im about ready to throw this comuter out the window. When I start it up everything powers on, but nothing happens, all the fans start the cd rom drive starts but the hard drive isnt accessed. now i sit there restarting the computer about 30 times and it works 1 time out of 30. what the hell is with that? everything is somewhat new within the last 6 months. i cleared cmos and nothing, i unplugged everything then plugged it back in and nothing. any help would be appreciated. thanks

I am running windows 2000 pro. the other 29 times that i start it nothing happens like stated above. everything powers on but nothing boots. the monitor doesnt turn on because the driver doesnt get loaded. the hard drive isnt accessed.... just nothing happens period. did i fry my motherboard? i havent added anything this just happend randomly out of the blue.

We know that you are frustrated but you need to explain the problem a bit better. What was the last thing you have added to your computer (hardware) ? when you say it starts 1 out of 30 times, what does happen other 29 times, that mean how far do you get in the POST ? or do you get that far ? When you press the power button what happens ?

Please do the following and get back to the post:
- Remove all the card from your system except for Video card
- unplug all the CD Roms and secondary hard drive if you have on (remove the power and data cable)

restart the computer go to BIOS and redetect the hard drive / save the setting and exit / reboot

cheers

p.s; what operating system that is.

adding to that remove the mobo and place it on cardstock the mobo might be grounded. other thing how old is the battery - sometimes its either the battery or the psu when you have fans running but no post.
