Exclamation Serious Problem Occuring, Help really needed

I've had this issue for a little while now, but it usually fixes itself but now it doesn't and it's becoming a real big problem.

My 2nd partition is constantly being read wrong. It currently says I have 242MB left though I know for a fact it should be almost 3Gigs. Sometimes when I uninstall a game or something it'll read accurately but now it won't even do that.

The first partition is fine, and they're both physically the same drive. I've scanned for virus', spyware, trojans, etc etc. With several different programs and I've found nothing. i've scanned for bad sector's and again nothing. The drive isn't heavily defragmented but I can't even defrag since I don't have 15% of the drive to do it.

So I really need some help with this one. Thanks to everyone you can lend a solution.

try to reseat the RAM
also try to see the correct information in the BIOS setup
if it is same there try reinstalling the OS
if you have XP then try last known good configuration

Restart --> tap F8 when you see the splash screen --> selct last known and hit enter

if it does not work try using a different HDD

Hi,

I'd rather not have to format at least not until I get a DVD burner because I have some things that are too big for a CD.

I'll try resetting RAM and see if that works. Thanks so far
