please help a newbie to windows installing an HP printer

Im a mac user and have following pc and printer:

-Acer laptop with infrared
-Hp Deskjet 990cxi

now he pritner is connected to a mac but i havent been able to print from the pc via the mac.

i want to connect the printer to the pc via infra red but this seems impossible. What can i do? bith have infrared ports but the pc simply cant read or make contact with the printer

in order to have a IBM colon computer talk to a Mac machine you need to have a translator protocol,, just cause they have IFRD does not make it possible to do a network bridging.... I don't know of any IFRD MAC protocol, but I know in order for a IBM colon system to understand MAC you need to have a MAC protocol optimizer like "Dave".

sure you can,, that the fastest way of doing it,, do you have drive for the printer ?

i do have latest driver installed but i cant connect it to the printer. the pc does not read the printer infrared. via the mac it sees it but always says "inactive" for the status of the printer

I thought you said you want to connect you PC to the Printer dirctly,, that mean through the paralle port not Infered,, do you have paralle cable for the printer.

coming from a mac world, never heard the word but i though that was old stuff. looks like i have to fetch the 90s again.
