router question

Hi all, i wasnt sure what board to post this on.. but i have a question about routers. I want to hook my ps2 online, but its in a different room from my computer and i wanted to get a wireless router for my ps2. My cable modem connects to my computer through usb, im guessing to hook up the router i would have to plug an ethernet cable into the ethernet2usb adapter , plug that into the router, plug another ethernet cable into my modem and into the router, then plug another 1 into the receiving router and into my ps2 modem. Is this correct?

[comp]\.............[modem]/.........

.............\__[router]____/.........

..............[receiving router].......

The simplest way is to hardwire your PS2 to the router. See Diagram . and replace one of the PCs on the diagram with the PS2.

If that isn't possible I would use a 'Wireless Router' which means that you would have to get a Wireless NIC for your PC as well as the PS2.

Popular opinion here in the UK is that you get a better network using NICs rather than USB.

The NIC does not use anywhere near the system resources that USB does.

Yes, NIC's are specifically meant for LAN/High speed internet connections. and by using a high speed internet connection through a NIC is a whole lot faster, and doesn't take up any CPU usage
