Irritating Standby Problem

cd rom: sony 52x
hard disk: maxtor 30 something gigs
operating system: WIN XP
RAM: 256 MB pc 133 SDRAM
processor: celeron 1 point somethings
motherboard: ECS P4VXASD2

My Computer goes on standby no matter what program is running.

It goes on standby even if I turn auto-standby off in the power options

It goes on standby even if I do nothing.

It goes on standby in random intervals

Check your Power Options and see what they are set at. You can set your computer to go into Standby after so many minutes.

Start > Control Panel > Performance And Maintenance > Power Options

no effect. its a hardware problem definitely. everythings set to never turn off.
