Need help hooking up 6-in-1 card reader to motherboard USB port

Okay, so I got took my side cover off and was looking around to see where I can hook up my card reader and it seems like the only place is where my two front USB ports are hooked up too. I hate to lose my front USB ports, does anyone know where else I can plug in my card reader? It's a small 5 pin connector with only 4 wires, and it supposily hooks up to your motherboard. There is a 5 pin section right around the motherboard area but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

contact hp and see if they have more than one usb connection available on the motherboard and, if so, what the speeds are. if you hade a motherboard manual that came with the pc then you might be able to find that out by looking at it.

Thanks, I contacted HP first and they said to call the manufacturer. Since the manufacturer probably doesn't know my specific computer's motherboard, I didn't pursue it anymore. Instead, a friend suggested moving the front usb port connector down one and then hooking up the reader. I don't know why I didn't think of that. So all I lost was one front USB port, no big deal.
