sound blaster problem

my creative sound blaster audigy has a problem. Everything works fine except one thing, the microphone port. THe mic port or whatever doesn't work properly. Could be a hardware problem or something else. Got all updates and shit, but still doesn't work properly in Counter strike. When i use the on-board mic port Counter strike mic works fine. I have a reciept but might be like too late, its like 2 months old.

How many mic ports does your PC have and where are they?

ok, the mainboard comes with onboard sound. and i bought a sound blaster audigy, which comes with sound ports and MIC PORT. in counter strike, the mic port for SB Audigy is messed, but when i use the on-board mic port, Counter strike talk works perfectly.

Try using the microphone on the SB Mic port and use Sound recorder to see if the port is working in Windows.

If the port on the onboard sound card is working I doubt that the SB card is working because they will almost certainly conflict with each other.

Have you tried disabling the onboard sound in BIOS?

RE: audigy mic not working

try double clicking on the speaker in the taskbar in the lower right corner of the screen, then go to options->properties and click on the microphone square. then hit ok, and then unmute the mic, it should work then.
P.S. I was having this problem, and this is how i fixed it
