Printing is slow as heck

I'm currently using an HP Officejet 6100 series printer. I have it plugged in via USB. It was working fine, but now for some reason when I print it takes forever to communcate with the printer.
Any ideas on what I should check or could possibly do to find out why the delay?

*I have updated the drivers for the printer.
