what the hell is going on?!
Okay: I got a new Athlon computer with a 128MB GeForce FX. From the moment I first use this PC it starts crashing randomly, every 10 minutes or when I load up a game, or when I'm browsing the internet or whatever. Figuring it must be the card, I uninstall it and stick in my old ATI 32MB DDR Radeon which I've had no problems with whatsoever in the past. Now the PC hardly ever freezes on desktop but will do every half an hour or so whilst playing a game (or sometimes instantly on loading with certain games). It's certainly an improvement but not perfect. So then on a whim I take my old P266 PC, format the hard drive, reinstall windows and install the new GeForce. I have exactly the same problem with it freezing every 10 minutes. Now, what the hell is going on? i'm guessing the GeForce is the source of the problem but why is my new PC still acting up after I uninstalled it? I'm thinking of formatting that and getting rid of the trial Win XP I have anyway and installing Me and leaving the GeForce well alone. Does this sound sensible? Has anyone got any other ideas? Thanks
