Is there such a thing as a USB hard drive caddy?

I think they used to make caddys that you could place a hard drive in and connect to a serial port, but do they make these for USB connections? I have 4 hard drives from 6 GB to 40 GB I'm not using right now and they would make excellent portable storage. Is there such a thing as what I want?
