newbie Motherboard question

I can a complete newbie regarding buying computer parts. I have no idea where to start. I thought of buying a new motherboard since my computer is so out of date.

My current motherboard is this. Should I just go out and buy a new one and stick all the video/audio cards and all that other stuff in the slots? I know it's probably not that easy though. I'm sure there are some compatibility issues?

Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I'm spinning in circles as of this moment

If you want to up grade your hardware you need to ask your self
if the setup you have now is doing what you want it to? If you
are a gamer you definatly need to upgrade try going to
Tom's Hardware Guide .com Anandtech.com Sharky Extreme or
do a web search for hardware guides but these three are good
Toms will have a guide for installing your new hardware .
I never had a MFG built system I used a freinds computer to find information and ordered the parts on the web and built it myself,
its easy. Make sure you buy an ATX motherboard so it will fit in
your case check that your power supply has enough wattage for
your new rig new P4s and AMD CPUs need at least 300watts
Try to buy your parts on the web out of state NO SALES TAX
and look for venders that have free shipping. check Price watch.com for an idea on what things cost but it pays to shop around. Good luck
