volume /sound control panel lost need help

as my daughter was usng the pc i believe she was dozing and dragged it somewhere. i can no find the volume control panel at all, have tried and tried again and again.

an one that can help that would be great

Search for "mmsys.cpl". It should be in "windows/system32".
If found elsewhere, copy back to this location. If not found, restore from XP cd.
