I own a Compaq computer which came with a Compaq DVD-ROM drive. After upgrading from Windows 98SE to XP, the Compaq DVD-ROM drive stopped working. I looked on the Internet for another driver but found out that Compaq was too lazy to make one for 2000 or XP. So just recently I bought a Pacific Digital DVD 8X Burner Drive, but it has problems playing some DVDs. I made a list below.
Code:
WinDVD (v4)
Fight Club no* Fox nothing

nothing: Nothing happens, but all DVDs automatically start up in WinDVD
windows: Windows XP opens up a menu to choose what to do with the disc

Im not sure what this means exactly, but my DVD drive seems to have a problem with Fox, Disney, Pixar, and Touchstone. I was told that Compaq computers sometimes have problems with non-Compaq stuff, could this be one of those cases?
