Power Supply Issue

I have a failed power supply on a Compaq Presario 5000 desktop & it has a 24 pin motherboard plug. All the replacement P/S that I find have a 20 pin plug. Is this something I'm going to have to get from Compaq?

I had the same problem with a older Dell system !! PII 350 MHz and up to PIII 667 MHz system used to have two power connectors to the mobo, one is 20 Pin and another 5 Pin,, and it is hard to get them now,, you have to try your luck in local computer store where they builds custom system not big department store. If you ask for new power supply they will hand you P4 power supply,, ask them for PII or PIII power supply with an extra AT connector for mobo.

cheers
