Homepage trouble

hi all, ive totally(:-s) removed my homepage from the net, with all files removed from my ftp client, although, if i visit my homepage, which should be blank, my index.html page is still there, although its not in my ftp client (ive used the find function, and nothings there), does anyone know how to get rid of this?.
the main problem is, i cant replace the homepage, as when i upload a new one, the old index.html is always there.any ideas?
