Internet Explorer Crashes

Some times when I open my Internet Explorer 6.0, it gives an error with the following text:

"An error has occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems, please restart your computer."

The IE closes after that. This problem exists even after I restart my computer. Surprisingly it happens only when I go to some websites for example when I try downloading something from some sites like http://www.download.com.

It also creates a junk text file with the name crash.txt in C drive which contains some junk characters.

Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated. Other product details are as follows:

Windows XP comes with Internet Explorer 6. Microsoft has made IE part of the core operating system. If you think IE is screwed up, and want to repair it, you must use the sfc command:

Start > Run , copy & paste > Sfc /scannow & press Enter .

This will scan and restore protected system files ( which IE is )
