cool! a linux virus!

I don't pay much attention, so this is the first I have seen, and thought it was worth noting. Don't worry, It is the symantec website.

Neat, but again it probably won't even come close to being widespread (Number of infections: 0 - 49) and all it does is delete the files in your home folder... not even replicating. But interesting nevertheless.

Knoppix is neat to play with but remember any changes you make while in it are reversed when you exit.

wonder if you can run it in a dvd drive, and keep a cd/rw handy and save settings that way? oh well, i'll find out more about it soon. I may wind up with bald spots on the sides of my head, but eventually i'll figure something out.

I believe that there's an option in Knoppix to save your configuration, I do not remember where though...

no virus-proof system exists. A virus might in knoppix still might be able to hit the boot sector.

But the chances of him getting such a virus... but I see what you mean though, linux is safer but definitely not completely virus-proof.
