Microsoft Internet Explorer

Can somebody please help me!!! I use Microsoft XP home version at my office. I use Yahoo email on a regular basis. My boss recently updated a new verson of QuickBooks onto my computer. Now everytime I go to open a link on the internet ALL files open up to a blank white screen which says "Microsoft Internet Explorer" in blue on the top.
Does anybody know how to turn this off??? I've to reinstall internet explorer and that has not worked.
Please HELP!!!!!!
